Natural Tea for Your Child’s Headache Instead of Tylenol
Ginger Tea
Simply
step 1. Skin a small portion of ginger root,
step 2. Cut it up into small pieces,
step 3. and drop in the spring water of the kettle.
There’s no specific timeframe to boil, but the longer, the more potent the ginger tea. For me, 5 to 10 minutes is good depending on the water level of course, over medium heat after it boils up works wonders.
My daughter recently had a headache when we came home the other night. I’ve been deep-diving into herbs for over a decade research-wise but hadn’t applied what I’d learned because of “distractions”, “being too busy”, or just plain forgetting.
The old Tylenol with the missing box (so no expiration date) happened to be in plain view in the cabinet, in the kitchen.
I reached for it nervous because I had started to have faith in the natural things God has created for us.
Then, something popped up in my mind: I had recently bought ginger from the grocery store. Then I remembered my Jamaican mother through the years always running to ginger for every sickness I had.
Then I thought, “duh”. It’s so easy to forget your roots from your ancestors because of new technology.
Benefits
- calms nausea ( completely gets rid of it for me within 30 minutes of drinking)
- boosts immunity
- lowers blood sugar
- and of course, gets rid of that headache
Conclusion
Ginger tea is a natural alternative to using synthetic Western pain medication, especially when it comes to your precious child. These medications can cause GI bleeding in the long run, something that happened to my grandmother who started constantly taking pills toward the end of her life since it was recommended by doctors.
Of course, this isn’t medical advice, and seek a physician according to your discretion.
