5 things You Should do Before Becoming a Mom

There is no real way to fully prepare for becoming a mother. But when you are a child of the Most High God, a follower of Jesus Christ, you are covered.

Table of Content

  1. Consult the Most High God of Israel
  2. Get to know your mother-in-law and father-in-law
  3. Determine what kind of birth you will have
  4. How is your relationship with Yahweh?
  5. Do you have any mental health issues?

1. Consult the Most High God of Israel

I honestly regret not praying and fasting before making the decision to become a mother. Love my kids, no doubt about that, but the person who it was with, the timing, and my decrement was not on the same level as it is now. Back then I was smart, but full of pride and unaware of the spiritual war at hand.

When you are younger, your brain isn’t fully developed, you don’t typically think about consequences past 5 years, and the environmental hazards allegedly planted by Babylon don’t make it any better.

Our hearts are evil.

Jeremiah 17: 9-10 KJV

The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked; Who can know it? I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings.

As humans, we can mistake love for lust, and not use knowledge and our “gut feeling” aka the Holy Spirit when it comes to romantic relationships.

Not that being attracted to each other is a bad thing, that is a beautiful thing to lust after your husband or wife.

But, ignoring red flags because of the way someone looks is a huge no-no. Or being with somebody because you want to please them alone is also something you shouldn’t consider.

God knows our hearts.

HE knows the heart of your husband. If somebody is sent from God to be your husband, God will confirm it to you. But you must remember

That being said, you and your husband’s prayers together can reveal what you need, if you should be together, and if you should have this baby together.

You can talk to God about everything.

Having a baby is a serious endeavor that involves you to risk your life to birth to another human. It puts your body under tremendous stress, so you should value your virtue and choose your man wisely.

And a true relationship with the Most High gives you wisdom.

2. Get to know your Mother-in-Law and Father-in-Law.

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Of course, we can’t help who our parents are, but that should give you a clue about how your husband was raised.

If he has wisdom through the Most High God, he is the black sheep of the family because of this, it’s understandable since for generations we have taken on bad habits.

But by repenting and following Christ, living in God’s commandments, and loving the Lord, we can live a beautiful life here and after.

It takes a village to raise a child, and if you’re blessed enough to have the help, you want to know what parenting styles they have because your child will be influenced by their environment.

Is the mom-in-law the type to be watching episodes of Love and HipHop all day, not caring or noticing the inappropriate low vibrational moves done by the “personalities” on the show?

Does the father-in-law have a foul mouth and does he have a good relationship with your man?

And when I say foul mouth I don’t just mean unnecessarily continuous bad language, I’m talking

about dangerous words like he always putting somebody down, saying he can’ do things or having serious doubt. Words are used to control society.

That’s one of the reasons you see so many new terms. Control the way someone talks, control the way they think.

(The very fact that he is involved in your husband’s life is great and not trying to be too picky, but these are things to note when looking into how your man was raised and what will be around your baby).

Remember, we are coming out of generational curses, but still in a spiritual war. You can’t stop your child from not seeing/hearing everything, but you can set boundaries and let things be known about how you feel.

You want your baby to be surrounded by an environment of healthy growth, and that peace comes from The Most High God.

3. Determine what kind of birth you will have.

There are many types of ways to give birth, but the hospital can be dangerous for a black woman.

Black women have the highest maternal mortality rate in the United States — 69.9 per 100,000 live births for 2021, almost three times the rate for white women, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Seeing that new Egypt was built off the backs of slaves, this is no coincidence. Medical racism is not new and is clearly apparent in the numbers.

I also will be diving into environmental racism and how the chemicals that poorer communities are exposed to affect our health.

4. How is your relationship with YAHWEH.

A relationship with the Lord our God is essential.

Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Mathew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 7:7-8 KJV

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

5. Do you have mental health issues?

God wants you to have peace.

Because of the spiritual war, you may be experiencing attacks.

The op does this by going after your thoughts. Causing anxiety.

With the word of God, you can overcome. The mental battle can feel strenuous, but call on Jesus to guide you through.

When you feel down or you feel an attack happening, use God’s word! The enemy will flee seven ways.

God will be your rock, in the Mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Adding children if you are already depressed, anxious, and fighting certain sin can be a dangerous mix.

Yes, be fruitful and multiply, but if you are right with God you can cause unnecessary havoc by becoming a parent over another human and you still are being tormented because you follow the ways of the world. This is how generational cycles continue.

If you’re already a mother and expecting or planning to, check out my book. There’s so much that we can learn from to raise up daughters who understand what kind of world we are in.

Use decrement. God is peace.
